Is Startyouronlinebiz just another site?

When I first visited StartYourOnlineBiz .com I thought that it looked like the deal of a lifetime... the site touted how it had been voted the "#1 small business to start in 2006 & 2007" and made mention of a feature on ABC News.

Looking back, I wish that I'd taken a little bit more time to read between the lines and realize that they were just another site that wasn't going to do much except take my money.

I realize now that StartYourOnlineBiz don't even bother to tell who it was that voted them the "#1 small business to start", and that the ABC News feature had nothing to do with the site or what it was selling at all.

Next time I'll be more careful and make sure to think about this sort of thing more carefully before I rush into things. Basically, the whole concept behind the StartYourOnlineBiz start your online biz site is that they teach you how to set up a website that allows people to buy ebooks. It's the exact same thing that you could do by going to ClickBank or any of those other sites that host ebooks for download (that you'll be using anyway if you use this program), but of course they don't want you to know that. There's a lot that this site doesn't seem to want you to know... you can't even find out more information about the program itself without giving them your name and email address.

Probably one of the most amusing things about the startyouronlinebiz site, and the thing that should have triggered some warning bells when I read it, was the fact that it goes on and on about how when you sign up you can be making money in minutes.

At the same time, the only charge that they list is a small fee for shipping and handling... they go on and on about how ebooks are the way that people can learn things easily and how you'll be making money as soon as you sign up, yet you're supposed to be paying for shipping and handling charges. Yeah, it's a small little gripe that's more funny than anything, but it really should have tipped me off that there was something not quite right about the site. Again, I just wish that I'd paid more attention.

While it is possible to make money with ebooks online, a lot of sites are already out there and have established client bases. You'll be much more likely to make money by going directly to them and becoming an affiliate than you will by starting your own site through anything like this.

Especially if you choose a website like this one, where they're promising to do everything for you so that you'll just have to spend a few hours per week worrying about it while the money comes rolling in... let's just say that they're getting their cut somewhere, and that if you're going to be waiting to become rich through this startyouronlinebiz site then you'll be waiting a long time.
