If you are not familiar with the site you are on, and you are not in an absolute need for the services it provides you still should never relinquish personal information.

When avoiding scams, it is the tough calls that are the smart decisions. Choosing to avoid certain websites or genres of sites is good policy and a safe choice. Unfamiliar sites can be a recipe for disaster, and this is the last thing you need when trying to stay safe online.

Common sense will prevail when it comes time to decipher whether or not a website is legitimate or not. Do not get caught off guard by sneaky tactics and fancy web designs, if it smells fishy chances are it really is and it is best to avoid it all together.
